Each year thousands of people visit Austin during SXSW. If you’re participating in the event, your schedule is undoubtedly jam-packed which leaves you with no spare time to enjoy or explore the photogenic side of Austin. But maybe you packed your camera and are just looking for the right excuse to break it out? Perhaps a panel is falling short or a party just doesn’t seem to be working out and you have a few spare moments.

We have a list of six photogenic locations for you to check out just in case those moments may arise. You could leave SXSW with a few more photos that may be worthy of framing.

1. Greetings from Austin

You can find this classic piece of street art on the corner of W. Annie and 1st Street just south of downtown Austin. It was recently restored and looks better than ever.

This playful piece of local street art can be found on the corner of Alamo and Martin Luther King Blvd just east of Highway 35.

3. The Long Center

The Long Center

Just south of downtown across from the lake you’ll find this location which is perfect if you’re looking for great skyline views.

4. Pfluger Bridge

Pfluger Bridge

Pfluger Bridge is just a short walk from the convention center and other SXSW hot spots. The bridge is a great location with sweeping views and outdoor lounge areas.

5. Zilker Park

Zilker Park

Zilker Metropolitan Park is an outdoor oasis and home to several popular events throughout the year such as ACL Music Festival. The park is surrounded by other local favorites such as Town Lake Trail and Barton Springs Pool.

6. Lou Neff Point

Lou Neff Point

After you snap another great photo of the downtown skyline from the point, keep walking on Town Lake Trail and discover other hidden gems that might strike your fancy.
